To view the Interconnection Hosting Capacity Map, please read and accept the disclaimer below.
Disclaimer
“Hosting Capacity” is the maximum estimated amount of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) that can be accommodated on the distribution system under existing grid conditions and operations, without adversely impacting safety, power quality, reliability or other operational criteria, and without requiring significant infrastructure upgrades.
The information on this map represents the overall feeder thermal hosting capacity as calculated at a point close to the substation, and does not account for all constraints that could impact interconnection costs. Please note that issues related to circuit protection require further analysis and are not included in the hosting capacity.
The map will be updated regularly, however; the information provided is non-binding and may not include all the DER projects presently interconnected or in the queue. Proposed projects will need further analysis and may need detailed engineering studies to determine whether such distributed generation can be accommodated on the system.
This map is being provided for informational purposes only and is not intended as a substitute for filing an application with Unitil and adhering to the Standards for Interconnection of Distributed Generation approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Please submit applications to interconnect DER through our Application page.
Submit an Online Application
We have re-designed our interconnection application portal to streamline the application process. With our new form, you can create an account to keep track of all of your application submissions.
We will ask you a few preliminary questions to determine which application process you will need to complete. Upon completion, your application will be submitted for review by a Unitil representative.
