Unitil University launched in 2022 to hone the skills of current and future Unitil leaders. This robust Leadership Training Program was purposefully designed to reinforce the competencies needed to lead at Unitil. Participating employees attend trainings, peer coaching practice, and complete online learning modules, and we graduate around 40 students per year. The program in integral to ensuring a strong future for Unitil with capable leaders who will continue Unitil's commitment to providing safe and reliable energy and excellent service to our communities.
Since its inception, Unitil University has grown to offer two learning tracks. The Emerging Leaders program seeks to train high performing employees who have shown an ability and desire to be a future leader. The Leaders in Energy program seeks to further hone the skills of the organization's current leaders.
Participants receive practical training on a variety of skills such as emotional intelligence, understanding values, relationship and interpersonal management, coaching, understanding and driving culture, appreciation and recognition, managing change, decision making, strategic thinking, and so much more.
The program has also expanded to provide individual, targeted training opportunities and internal learning events where employees can expand their knowledge about other areas within the organization.
