Unitil, a provider of natural gas and electricity to customers in New England, and the American Red Cross of N.H., Maine and north central Massachusetts renewed their partnership for a third year. Unitil and the Red Cross will work together to enhance their respective commitments to emergency response and community safety.
"We are incredibly proud to support the American Red Cross and its work to provide essential emergency and safety services," said Carol Valianti, Unitil's vice president of communications and public affairs. "We look forward to expanding our efforts to increase safety awareness and provide meaningful assistance to those in our community who need our support."
Unitil is committed to supporting the Red Cross in its efforts to provide life-saving blood products to meet the needs of accident victims, cancer patients, children with blood disorders and others. In response to the constant need for blood donations, Unitil held three Red Cross blood drives in 2012 at which Unitil employees in Massachusetts and New Hampshire donated a total of 65 pints of blood.
