Unitil Corporation, (www.unitil.com), a provider of natural gas and electricity to customers in New England, is making significant progress in its restoration efforts for customers on the NH Seacoast and Capital regions.
As of 1:00 p.m., approximately 2,780 customers are without power, down from a peak of approximately 33,715 Monday morning. Of the remaining customers out, approximately 1897 of those customers are in the Capital region and 883 on the Seacoast.
The majority of customers in the Capital region and the Seacoast region are expected to have power restored by end-of-day today, Tuesday, with isolated pockets of customers and individual services on Wednesday. Crews will go from location to location to restore customers until all single services have been picked up. If there are customers still without power who see service restored to their street or their immediate neighbors, they should call Unitil customer service immediately. Some individual customer issues may require work from an electrician before restoration can occur.
"Crews made tremendous progress with power restoration this morning. We are extremely grateful to our customers for their patience during this restoration process. As you are trick-or-treating with your children this evening, please be aware of fallen trees and debris from the storm, especially downed wires."
Unitil VP of Communications and Public Affairs, Carol Valianti
Unitil will be communicating throughout the event through Public Service Announcements (PSAs), our website, our customer call center and through the media. We also encourage customers to follow along with our storm updates via Facebook, our Twitter feed (@Unitil) and we will be providing real-time outage information online at www.unitil.com/map.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MEDIA: Unitil asks that when reporting outage information, outlets time stamp the information. Outage numbers change hourly and we wish to make sure the information customers receive is consistent and understandable. Re-Tweets and re-posting of old information without referencing a time can create confusion.
