A major highway project, such as the current widening of the Spaulding Turnpike, is much more than new bridges, exits and pavement.
There is an entire infrastructure of utilities to think about – water, sewer, electricity and gas – that also has to be considered.
And no company knows that better than Unitil, which is responsible for relocating a natural gas line out of the right of way the New Hampshire Department of Transportation is using to widen the Spaulding (Route 16) to eight lanes between Exit 1 in Newington and the Dover tolls just beyond Exit 6.
