The city has teamed up with Unitil to provide financial assistance to homeowners making energy-efficient improvements through the utility's MassSave Home Energy Services program.
Through the Energy Save Grant Program, income-qualified Fitchburg homeowners can receive grants of up to $8,000 for health and safety improvements, insulation and air sealing and other energy enhancements.
The MassSave Home Energy Services program provides free home energy assessments and financial incentives to homeowners who make such upgrades.
...The city's grant funds will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to income-qualified Fitchburg residents of owner-occupied one- to four-family homes 10 years or older. To be eligible for a grant through the city's program, homeowners must contact Unitil at 888-301-7700 to conduct a free home energy audit.
