Unitil, (www.unitil.com), a provider of natural gas and electricity to customers in New England, announced today Sara Sankowich, System Arborist was recently honored by the Utility Arborist Association (UAA) at the 2015 UAA Awards. Presented in August, individuals were honored for their achievements in the areas of utility arboriculture.
As winner of the Rising Star Award, Sankowich was recognized by a group of her peers as an individual still early in their career who brings new energy and ideas to the industry.
“I am thrilled to be honored with a Rising Star Award,” said Sankowich. "It was completely unexpected. I'm grateful to be employed by an organization that supports my career growth and allows me to work in an area I'm passionate about."
Established in 1974, the UAA provides resources and support to supports utility arborists employed by electric utilities. Currently, there are approximately 3,000 UAA members in North America.
