Unitil Corporation, (Unitil.com), a provider of natural gas and electricity to customers in New England, will be closing its system and regional Emergency Operations Centers at 1:30 p.m. and will resume normal operations as the bulk of snowfall from today’s storm system has moved through with minimal impact.

The storm brought several inches of snow and gusty winds to the region, but despite the heavy, wet nature of the snow in many areas, the event caused only scattered power outages.

“The potential for problems on our system was certainly there given the consistency of the snow that built up on many trees and branches, but fortunately we didn’t experience any significant issues. While the worst of the storm has passed, our crews will remain ready to respond to any additional outages that may occur,” said Unitil Media Relations Manager Alec O’Meara.

Any customers experiencing outages should call 1-888-301-7700 or report online at unitil.com/report-outage.
