As of 4:30 p.m., Unitil has restored power to a majority of customers on system and crews are now addressing single service issues and isolated areas. Customers still without power are urged to contact Unitil Customer Service in order to ensure restoration in a timely fashion. At peak, approximately 15,300 Unitil customers were without power at 6:30 Thursday morning.
"Crews did a tremendous job to restore power in less than 36 hours, considering the complexity of some of the work that was required in the field in the wake of this storm. We had multiple wires down reports, multiple broken poles and a high volume of highly localized issues. We’ll continue to push through until the final customers are back on and normal operations have resumed."
Alec O’Meara, Media Relations Manager
As restoration continues, there will be areas where an individual service or small groups may be out after neighbors have been restored. If there are customers still without power who see service restored to their street or to their immediate neighbors, they should report their outage again immediately. Some individual customer issues may require work from a private electrician before restoration can occur. In these unique instances, crews will leave notification at the residence upon arrival.
