Unitil crews will continue to work to restore power to customers, with the majority of customers expected to have power restored by Monday evening. Customers in extensively damaged areas such as the New Hampshire seacoast region may see outages beyond Monday.
As of 6:00 AM approximately 10,580 of Unitil’s 103,000 electric customers system wide are reporting outages, down from a reported peak of 25,200. Of those customers, 2,400 of Unitil’s 28,000 customers in Massachusetts are without power and 8,180 of Unitil’s 75,000 customers in New Hampshire are without power. Approximately 5,220 of the New Hampshire customers are in the New Hampshire seacoast region, with the rest in the Concord, New Hampshire area.
“Now that the storm has passed and roads have been cleared, our focus turns exclusively to getting power restored for our customers,” Unitil Media Relations Manager Alec O’Meara “Many of the remaining outages are small pockets of affected customers, meaning restoration following this historic storm will still take hard work and time.”
Unitil will continue to work quickly and efficiently to restore power to customers. In the meantime, we ask for our customers’ patience and understanding should there be a disruption in power, and we will provide regular updates to local media outlets, online and though Unitil’s Twitter feed regarding progress. As restoration nears completion, the possibility remains that customers with individual service issues may still be without power. Customers still without power who see service restored to their street or their immediate neighbors should call Unitil customer service immediately.
