EXETER -- Two years ago, Nathan Lunney and Clay Mitchell got to talking about solar power. Lunney, chief financial officer for SAU 16, suggested sticking cola panels on the roof of the new Exeter High School. There was Just one catch: he wanted the largest array of solar panels in the state, but at no cost to the school district….
…Unitil, a Hampton-based utility company, supported the project as well by providing $200,000 in funding.
“It’s about being part of the community and being a good neighbor,” Alec O’Meara, Unitil’s media relations manager, said.
School Superintendent Micheal Morgan said the project, which has been incorporated into the school curriculum, is part of SAU 16’s overall effort to conserve and go green.
