File a Property Damage Claim

Report damaged property.

If you believe Unitil caused a loss for which you should be compensated, you may submit a claim for review. If Unitil is proven to be at fault for all or a portion of the damage, we will determine the appropriate amount of that loss and resolve the claim.



Please keep in mind that Unitil cannot be held responsible for damage caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Weather events and conditions such as hurricanes, flooding, snow and ice, lightning, or extreme temperatures
  • Power outages or voltage fluctuations
  • Third-party negligence, such as a driver (who is not a Unitil employee) hitting a utility pole
  • Animal contact
