The MyUnitil Experience

To access your MyUnitil account, log in on the MyUnitil mobile app or at myaccount.unitil.com.

If you're a new user, you'll be asked to provide some basic information, including your Unitil account number, the last four digits of your social security number or Tax ID, and to define a username and a password for your MyUnitil portal. If you have not yet set up service, you will need to do so first in order to receive your Unitil account number. Then, you may set up your online profile so you can manage your account on the web.

Utilize the Forgot Password and Forgot User Name links in the MyUnitil mobile app or on the MyUnitil landing page.

After logging into the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil portal, click on the "Profile" tab. Then, select "My Profile" located at the top of the page.

Scroll down to the Change Password section. Enter then confirm your new password.

You will be required to enter your old password in order to proceed with the change. 

You will need to provide us with the following information to start service at a new location:

• The address of the new location
• Your name
• Your social security number, federal tax identification number or IRS 147C form
• Your date of birth
• Your telephone number at the new location
• Your mobile or business phone number
• The date you are requesting service
• Spouse's name (if applicable)
• Your email address (if applicable)

From the "Bills & Payment" tab found in the main menu, click the "Pay My Bill" button. This will bring you to a new tab where you can select your payment account, the pay date, and the amount. 

There is also a "Pay Bill" button on the main dashboard in the "My Current Bill" section. 

You can opt into email notifications for payment confirmations, rejected payments, or canceled payments through the Notifications section of the website. Visit the My Profile section of the site, click on ‘Profile Contacts’.

Please note: when multiple accounts are paid in a single transaction, the notification subscriber will receive a single notification for each account paid.

Yes, within your MyUnitil account, you can pay multiple accounts in a single transaction (up to 25 accounts) as long as they are linked within your MyUnitil profile.

Log in to your MyUnitil account.

From the "Account Services" tab found in the main menu, you can set up and manage Uni-Pay, which is Unitil's autopay service.

Please note: Uni-Pay is available using a bank account (checking or savings) only.

Automatic payments may also be called: auto pay, auto payments, autopay, or automatic pay. 

We offer a free, secure and reliable electronic bill delivery and payment service.

To enroll, log into or create a MyUnitil profile using the MyUnitil mobile app or myaccount.unitil.com. Navigate to the "Profile" tab in the main menu, then select "Notifications" at the top of the page. 

Select an account number, email, phone number, and text number under the "Communication Preference" section. 

Under the "Notification Subscription" section, toggle to Yes for receiving email, and/or SMS/Text for "Your Monthly Bill." Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Update Communication and Notification Preferences" button to save your selections.

After the next billing cycle following your enrollment, you will receive an electronic bill instead of a paper version at the email address associated with your account.

In the MyUnitil portal, you can download up to 24 months of billed usage, payment history, or billing history for all the accounts linked to your MyUnitil profile into a single data file.

First, log in to the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account.

Navigate to “Bills & Payments,” “Payment History,” or "Billed Usage” in the main menu.

Scroll to the bottom and select “Download.”

In the pop-up box, select which account(s) you would like to download data for. You can select a single account, multiple accounts, or all the accounts that are linked to your MyUnitil profile. Select the data type and the date range, then select “Download.” A CSV file will download to your device.

Visit our Request A Payment Plan page. Select between 3 or 6 months in length, and your past due amount will be divided by the number of months selected and added to your current charges each month. Customers enrolled in a financial hardship program should call us at 1-888-301-7700 to discuss an extended payment plan.

If you are experiencing a loss of power to your home, you can report your outage:

• through your MyUnitil account under the "Account Services" tab -> "Report an Outage"
• online using our outage submission form 
• using the MyUnitil mobile app -> click "Report a Power Outage"
• by calling our Customer Service line at 1-888-301-7700

Yes! With a MyUnitil account, you can subscribe to receive Outage Notifications. These notifications include three types of alerts: 

1. An alert when there is an outage impacting your service, typically within 15 minutes of the first report, along with a link to check status updates online.
2. Updates on the crew status and current estimated restoration times (ETRs) as they become available. Please keep in mind, ETRs may change as crews assess conditions. Refer to the outage map for the most up-to-date ETR and crew status info.
3. A notification when power is restored. 

After electing to enroll in SMS/text and/or email notifications within the Outage Notification category, you will begin to receive all 3 notification types listed above. If you enroll in Voice Outage Notifications, only the restoration notifications will be sent to the primary phone number on file.

Log in to your MyUnitil account and update your notification preferences to include Outage Notifications.

If your account is experiencing an outage, there will be an alert in the "My Alerts" section of your MyUnitil portal dashboard. 

Start Service

On the MyUnitil landing page, scroll down to the "Are you a new customer?" section and select the appropriate form. For existing properties, fill out the "Application for New Service." For new construction properties, fill out the "Contractor Request Form."

Transfer/Move or Stop Service

Log in to your MyUnitil account. From the "Account Services" tab found on the left-hand side navigation, you can transfer or disconnect your service.

To transfer/move your service, you will be required to pay any outstanding arrears balance on the account before the transfer request can be processed. 

After logging into the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account, click on the "Profile" tab located in the main menu. Then, select "My Profile" at the top and scroll down to find the "Edit Additional Profile" button.

From that pop-up, add email addresses and phone numbers.

Click the "Update Changes" button, then the "x" button at the top right of the pop-up to exit the pop-up.

Log in to the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account.

From the "Profile" tab found in the main menu, select "Notifications" at the top of the page.

Select an account number, email, phone number, and text number under the "Communication Preference" section.

Under the "Notification Subscription" section, click the "Yes/No" toggle for receiving paper, email, SMS/Text, or Voice notifications for the available topics. Please note, you can select either paper or electronic delivery methods for each notification type, not both.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Update Communication and Notification Preferences" button to save your selections.

After logging into the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil portal, click on the "Profile" tab located in the main menu. Then, select the "Accounts List" tab located at the top of the page.

To link additional accounts, add the account number and verification method.

Select "Add Account."

After logging into your MyUnitil portal, find the "Change Account" button in the top menu bar. This will expand to show all the accounts linked to your profile. Select the account you wish to view. 

You can toggle between accounts using the MyUnitil mobile app by clicking the blue circle in the bottom right corner. 

There are two places where you can view alerts related to your account on your MyUnitil dashboard.

1. Look for the flag on the right side in the top navigation bar - if the icon has a red number, that means there's an alert.

2. In the My Alerts section.

After logging into the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account, click on the "Profile" tab located in the main menu. Then, select "Guest Access" located at the top of the page.

Select the account number.

Add the guest's email address.

Choose the access you would like to provide your guest under "Access Settings."

Select "Send Invite."

The MyUnitil portal offers multiple ways to view and download your energy usage. Start by logging into the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account.

For Monthly Usage

Viewing your energy usage may be done using the MyUnitil mobile app or your MyUnitil account. 

The Billed Usage tab displays up to 24 months of billed usage. Here, get visuals on your monthly usage paired with weather data and events for better context.

Toggle various weather overlays such as average temperature on and off by clicking on them in the legend below the chart. 

Add events specific to your usage under the "My Events" section. Did you just upgrade to LED lightbulbs or get heat pumps installed? Maybe you had a full house. Tracking these events could help you understand your home's energy usage better.

Usage Downloads:

To Download your monthly usage use myaccount.unitil.com (downloads are not available on the MyUnitil App). Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Download." In the popup, select the account(s), billed usage as the data type, and date range, then select "Download." 

For Daily Usage

Electric customers with a smart meter will be able to view and download their daily usage in the Smart Meter tab. 

Dates can be adjusted in the fields provided to view up to 90 days of data. Toggle various weather overlays such as average temperature on and off by clicking on them in the legend below the chart. Events that are in the Billed Usage section will be visible here, and new events can be added. 

To download 30 days of usage use myaccount.unitil.com. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Download Usage History to Spreadsheet."

If you’re unsure of your username or password, utilize the Forgot Password and Forgot User Name links on the MyUnitil landing page or in the MyUnitil mobile app.

The Forgot User Name option utilizes your account number and a verification method to find the associated username.

The Forgot Password option sends a password reset email to the email address associated with your profile. Note that you must provide the email address that is associated with your profile in order for the system to send the password reset email.

There are several options to make your MyUnitil account more secure:

• Update your password to be longer and more complex.
• Update your security question to something that’s unique and hard to guess.
• Implement Two-Factor Authentication for an additional layer of protection.

Change Password

From the "Profile" tab found in the main menu, select "My Profile" located at the top of the page.

Scroll down to Change Password. Enter then confirm your new password. A good password is at least 12 characters, incorporates upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, and is not predictable.

You will be required to enter your old password in order to proceed with the change. Select “Update My Profile.”

Update Security Question

From the "Profile" tab found on the left-hand navigation, select "My Profile" located at the top of the page.

Scroll down to Security Question. Use the dropdown to select a pre-populated question or create your own. Input the answer in the “Security Answer” field. Select “Update My Profile.”

Implement Two-Factor Authentication

From the "Profile" tab found on the left-hand navigation, select "My Profile" located at the top of the page.

Scroll down to Enhanced Security. Select “Two-Factor Authentication.”  Enter your email address in the “Authentication Via” field. Select “Update My Profile.”
