Welcome, Maine Natural Gas Customers!

Unitil has agreed to acquire Maine Natural Gas (MNG) and its central Maine distribution system.

Unitil provides natural gas to customers in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. We are excited to bring Unitil’s top-tier customer experience and local management to the Augusta, Brunswick, and Gorham areas. By integrating MNG into our northern New England-focused operations, we believe customers, employees, and communities will be well-served as we continue to work with the state in reaching Maine's climate goals.

We look forward to serving you.

If You Smell Gas - Don't Wait!

No matter how slight - leave the premises then call help immediately.

What to Expect

Maine Public Utilities Commission's (MPUC) Review of the Acquisition
To ensure the transaction is consistent with the interests of customers and investors, the MPUC will review this acquisition. We expect to hear the outcome of this review by Fall of 2025.

In the meantime:

As we await the Maine Public Utilities Commission's review, Maine Natural Gas customers should expect no changes to their existing service and should continue to use current MNG customer service phone numbers for any account questions or emergencies.

Customers will receive direct notifications about any updates or changes, including future changes to customer account numbers.
