Position Description: 

Provides 24/7 monitoring and control of the electric transmission and distribution systems for all Unitil Electric Distribution Operating Companies (DOC’s);  provide outage management response and reporting for all electric DOC’s; and perform tasks associated with compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to NERC (National Energy Regulatory Commission), MDPU (Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities), NHPUC (New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission) that would include reporting, emergency response, notifications and responding to questions regarding the electric systems.  Monitor electric SCADA and OMS systems and take necessary actions to respond to real-time system conditions. This position falls under the Department of Transportation drug testing requirements. 

Qualifications: 
  • Associate Degree in Electric Engineering or Engineering Technology related educationalbackground with a minimum of  3 years work experience. 
  • Utility experience preferred. 
  • Requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, working knowledge of personal computers and software including:  word processing, spreadsheet, database, OMS (outage management systems) SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and business applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must achieve certification to complete Switching and Tagging on Unitil Distribution Systems within 6 months.
  • Be available to work varying rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be available to work beyond normal scheduled shifts during major weather events and other system emergencies and must reside within a specific geographic area in accordance with labor agreement.
  • Candidates are required to pass a drug test on entry and are subject to subsequent random drug testing.
