Financial Assistance

(Updated April 1, 2021) If the efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 have impacted your employment or your business, we want you to know that our Customer Service team is here for you. We are committed to doing the following for you, our customer:

 

U-CARE

Unitil has created the Unitil Customer Assistance & Recovery Effort (U-CARE) Fund and has donated $150,000 to local Community Action Programs (CAPs) to aid residential customers with utility costs if they have been directly impacted by COVID-19-related job loss or reduced wages.

If you feel you are in need of assistance, please call Unitil at 1-888-301-7700 or the CAP agency in your area and they will work with you to find the right program for your specific needs:

Services During the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Electricity and gas service – Our pandemic task force is working diligently to find creative means of ensuring our core services remain uninterrupted and we continue to meet your energy needs in this difficult time.
  • Customer-requested service – Our techs continue to respond to service requests as needed for our customers, including turn offs, turn-ons, and relocation services. Our Customer Service team is working remotely to take calls and service requests.
  • Regular billing and the ability to make payments – We continue to offer our full suite of payment and billing options for customers, and our team is standing by to provide assistance through payment plans and other resources. We encourage all customers to take advantage of MyUnitil to manage accounts online.
  • Emergency response – Our priority, as always, remains public safety. Contact us immediately for all gas and electricity emergencies and we will be there.

Health & Safety Protocols

Unitil continues to perform essential work activities to ensure the safety and reliability of our natural gas system. You may see crews in your area working on scheduled municipal projects. This will be a combination of street and individual service work, which may require access or entry to a building or residence. It’s equally important that we maintain the health and safety of our technicians, contractors and customers.
