What is Better Investing?

Better Investing is a non-profit organization made up of investment clubs and individual investors. It was founded in 1951 to increase the number of individual investors in common stocks and to provide a program of investment education and information for both inexperienced and experienced investors. Better Investing believes that the broad ownership of industry helps to increase jobs by providing more capital to industry, which in turn increases the financial opportunities for individuals. Better Investing's information programs are designed to help members become successful, long-term, lifetime investors.

Unitil joined Better Investing as a corporate member in 1994 in order to effectively reach the more than 500,000 individual investor members of Better Investing. Individual investors are generally personally involved in his or her investment decisions and tend to be loyal, long-term and value-oriented investors. Unitil is a participating member in Better Investing's Low Cost Investment Plan and the Investor's Information Reports Program.
